The LFA Works – A Look Behind the Scenes of LFA Production

If you are fascinated by the Lexus LFA and the engineering process that’s involved you’ll want to take a look at this gallery of photos from Lexus.

The Lexus Magazine LFA Works slideshow reveals the intimacy of each phase of production. The process appears to have more similarities with aircraft production than automotive.

The machine that braids carbon fiber thread into looms looks like something one might see involved in building a space shuttle and exposed to elements not regularly found on this planet.

Even the drill bits had to be specifically created to enable clean drilling through the layers of carbon fiber so it wouldn’t fray or disrupt the braiding.

As you look through the photos it seems that there wasn’t any part of the Lexus LFA that didn’t get it’s own unique process created and the use of materials that would support such extreme high performance.
